My Blessing

On the very first Sunday this year, I was blessed in church.
Daddy did it.
Lots of family came to see me.

And I looked awesome!
 Don't I look great?
Aunt Karren and Uncle Bruce gave me the outfit.

The weather was so cold--it was nice to be so cozy
AND handsome at the same time!

Here's me with Mommy and Daddy.

After the blessing we all took pictures
and headed back to our house for some food and play time.

I have a big family, don't I?
And this is only half of it!
This is Mommy's side of the family--
Daddy's side couldn't come.
Can you imagine how big the picture would have been if they HAD come?
WOW!
That would have been SO COOL!

I am so lucky to have so many people who love me!
I am blessed!

Daddy and Me

Everyone knows a baby's favorite person is the Mama.
After all, she's the milk lady!

It's true I love my Mama,
but this baby's best friend is his Daddy!

 I just love my Daddy-man!
I even started accepting bottles so he could feed me too!
That's real love.

We love to hang out, Daddy and me.
No one can make me laugh like he does.
If he doesn't come home in time to play with me before bedtime,
I am one majorly grumpy guy.

Daddy is super good at getting me to sleep.

If I'm with Mama, she's got to nurse me,
wrap me up in my favorite blanket,
and bounce me for a loooong time before I'll go to sleep for her.

Daddy just has to hold me and I'm out.
I'm not sure how he does it.
I guess I just feel so safe with him.

Daddy and I talk, sing, and do all kinds of fun stuff together.
I could listen to him sing all the time!

Yep, we're buddies, Daddy and me.
I couldn't do without him.

Warm and Wet

Sometimes, for no reason I can see, Mama and Daddy put me in something called a 'bath'.
It's warm and wet and pretty awesome, though took a while before I came around to it.

Wow, you should have been there the first time I was dumped in the bath!
The water was great--warm and splashy,
but I hadn't been in a bath before and didn't know what to think of it.

The tub was hard and plastic,
Mama was rubbing this spongy thing all over me,
and Daddy had to hold my head up and make sure I didn't fall in.
Warm water or not, the bath was NOT comfortable!

I like my bath better now.
I have a more comfortable seat and I'm big enough to hold my own head up.
I like to splash and have water poured over my belly and head.
I can even put up with being washed.

The only thing I don't like now is the getting out part.
SO COLD!!

Really, I like being warm and wet,
but there's got to be a better (warmer) way to get out.
Work on it, Mama!

To Sleep or Not to Sleep

Mama says I don't sleep enough at night.
She says it was okay when I was first born,
but now I need to get my baby act together and start sleeping for longer than two hours at a time.

Whatever, Mama.

Don't get me wrong, I like sleeping and all, but there are times it just doesn't work.

Most of the time when I don't sleep it's because my tummy hurts.
You know, sometimes I'm super hungry and sometimes I've got major toots.

Sometimes, even worse, I eat too much and fill my diaper up so that it gets my pajamas all wet and Mama has to change me in the cold bedroom…ugh!

Sometimes, though, I just miss Mama.
When that happens I howl until she pulls me into bed with her.
I like to sleep on her chest best of all.
She's so cozy and warm! Much better than being all by myself in my little bed.

Okay, okay, I promise to work on sleeping longer…tomorrow.
Or maybe the next day.

Well, I'll get around to it sometime.

Who is the Boss around Here?

Hello, all.
I'm the new guy, Robby.

I know I haven't been here long, but I would like to lodge a few complaints.
First of all, I'd really appreciate it if everyone would stop rubbing by head. I realize my hair is pretty awesome, but come on people! Haven't you ever heard of 'personal boundaries'?

Second, if you are going to hold me, do it right! Sometimes I like to look over your shoulder, sometimes I like to face out, and sometimes I want to lay down and go to sleep in your arms.
If you don't know which one I want, well, you better figure it out real quick!

Third, (and this should go without saying)
I ought to be able to eat and sleep exactly when and where I want.
Does it really matter if my brother gets picked up from school at exactly 2:35?
He can wait ten minutes while I eat!
And Mama should respect my need for six midnight snacks and NOT keep me waiting.
And I'll sleep where I want to…that means stop waking me up to go places I don't care about (like church or the store) and if I fall asleep in the car--well, you'll just have to deal with it.

Arg! Who is the boss around here, anyway?

Of course, those minor issues aside, I have it pretty good. Mama and Daddy take good care of me.
My brothers and sister like me and like to play with me. Milk is good. My chair is awesome.
There is always something or someone to look at.
I guess I don't really need those other things...

NOT.

I am Little, but I am NOT a Baby!

I am saying goodbye to this blog.
I am not a baby and we have a new baby around here now!

This our baby, Robby.
I know he is so cute, but don't get any ideas!
He's MY baby!

I am a big girl now!
I can even dress myself!
Well, I pick out the clothes anyway, and I help Mommy and Daddy dress me.

I still like chocolate. That hasn't changed.

I also still like my Binky.
Mommy tried to take it away, but I told her I would suck my thumb if she did.
She gave it back.

Now that I am a big girl, I like to play different games.
Like making silly faces.

Yep, big girls are pretty silly sometimes!

Now, I know that some big girls have lots of hair. I used to have big, fluffy, golden curls.
But I didn't like it and when big girls want things to change, they have to make it happen.
So, on Christmas Day, I did.

Yep, I gave myself a haircut.

Nice right?

Well, maybe it was a little messy.

But Mommy fixed it! and she did a great job!
(At least I thought so.)

See how pretty I am now?
(Actually, it's already a little longer, and I'm okay with that.
In fact, I told Mommy I miss my "big hair".)

I'm also just a little dramatic.
Big girls are like that sometimes.

Now, I do takes naps sometimes, but that doesn't mean I'm a baby.
I means I'm a toddler. After all, I'm almost three now!

I am so out of here!
See you on the Toddler Blog!

Catching up...with ME!

Hallo, All!
It's been a long time since we've been able to put new pictures up here,
but Mommy says we'll do better...hopefully!
In any case, here's a start.

I'm 2 now and getting bigger every day!

Mommy and me--we are best friends. I follow her around all day and even though I don't fit on her lap right now, I like to get as close to her as I can.

We are silly together--making faces, singing songs, and talking in silly voices.
I just love to laugh!

Mommy says I have the funniest personality.
I love to show-off, dance, and generally be the center of attention.
Daddy says I'm a 'Ham'.
Which is weird, because ham is one of the few foods I'm not in love with.
How can I BE a ham if I don't LIKE ham?

I enjoy every minute of my life and keep very busy learning new games, words, and ways to get in trouble. If there's a mess somewhere, you can bet I was involved.
If there is music or laughing, I'm bound to be in the middle of it.

I am the life of the party. And if there isn't a party, I'll start one!
